Our Story
We recognize that the child care industry needs software that’s friendly and easy to use, while at the same time powerful enough to help child care owners and operators with managing the many responsibilities and tasks that arise each day.
That’s why we’ve developed Sandbox – child care software that truly makes a difference for childcare owners and operators across North America. We hope you’ll join the growing number of childcare centers and preschools that have found Sandbox, and enjoy using our childcare software to make life easier at their center.
Sandbox was the brainchild of co-founders Rob & Harry. In 2010 Rob had 2 toddlers and was working as a sales representative for a landscape software company when he realized that the child care industry didn't have a management software that was affordable and easy to use. Child care owners either used a proprietary, clunky and expensive software that they actually have to install on ALL their systems OR they kept on using separate tools like spreadsheets, word processing and a ton of paper.
Rob met Harry, a father of 4 and a software engineer, at a trade show by the same company they were both working in. Seizing the opportunity, the 2 quit their jobs and started to put together a plan. After a few months of intense research, design and coding in Harry's basement, they launched a product that would disrupt the child care software industry and simplify the lives of thousands of child care owners.
Sandbox was born on 2011 and like an actual "sand box" where children play and often holds many of their toys, Sandbox is an online software that contains management, billing and communication tools that child care owners use everyday to run their business.
10 years later with 17+ employees and a brand new office, Rob now has 6 adorable kids and Harry has converted his basement into a beer brewing man cave. Most importantly, Sandbox is now used by thousands of centers across North America, and is now one of the leading and highest rated child care management and parent communication tool out there.
